Developed a prototype attendance-management mobile app for employees, over three months with a team of 3 interns.
Frontend was React + TypeScript on React Native, checked live with Expo Go; backend was Firebase; project management ran through Jira; version control through Git/GitHub. I covered everything from frontend design implementation to backend work-data management, and where the company-provided design felt hard to use, I proposed concrete fixes myself — buttons too small, too much scrolling from information density, and so on.
The other two interns had no team-development experience, so Git workflow and task management started from scratch. I documented branch conventions and commit-message style and shared them to set up the process. Progress had also stalled almost entirely for the first two weeks from lack of communication, so we introduced aligned in-office days for more face time, a "if you can't solve it in 10 minutes, ask" rule, and task breakdown with weekly goals in Jira — checking progress against the week's goal on the last working day of each week.
We finished with a working prototype on schedule. The experience taught me the value of breaking tasks down with shared understanding of what each one means, and of setting short- and mid-term goals to keep the end point and current progress clear. Code readability stayed a weak point throughout, though — a reminder that shared coding conventions across a team need to be established, not assumed.
