Bosch — Domestic Internship (ADAS Development)

Supported ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) feature development for ADAS in the Cross-Domain Computing Solutions division at Bosch's Yokohama site, over three months from May to July 2025.

Work

Worked on the ACC feature, which uses a vision sensor in the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) to detect objects (vehicles, motorcycles) and control following distance and speed. Analyzed requirement specifications and reviewed open points raised by the OEM — reviewing and updating specs with a requirements management tool, reading state machines and timing charts, and analyzing CAN signals.

Features worked on

Organized how CAN signals change across ACC's various control scenarios, including Set-Speed Control, Follow Control, Curve-Speed Control, Overtake Assist, Wrong-Side Overtake Suppression, and Takeover Request.

Challenges and how I overcame them

Early on, I struggled with incomplete PC/document access permissions and with communicating in English with colleagues at an overseas site. Once I realized that asking the person directly was more efficient than asking over chat, how I approached tasks improved dramatically.

Feedback received

My supervisor recognized me for working reliably with no lateness or absences, delivering the expected output on time, proactively checking on anything unclear along the way, and working closely with other team members throughout.
